Walking Tours
The Rocks Self-guided Tour leaflet is available from the Sydney Visitor Centre for A$2.20 and covers around 31 historic buildings and points of interest in The Rocks. The heritage walk takes half a day, beginning at the Visitor Centre - a former sailor's home - and ending at Cadman's Cottage. The Rocks Walking Tours (tel: (02) 9247 6678; website: www.rockswalkingtours.com.au) operates 90-minute guided tours taking in all the historic sites, leaving three times a day (twice a day on weekends) from Shop K4, Kendall Lane, at a cost of A$16.

Bus Tours
Great Sights South Pacific (tel: (02) 9241 2294) offers an 'Inside Sydney' half-day tour encompassing Sydney Harbour, the Northern Beaches and Manly, with a Harbour Cruise option. Departures are daily at 0845 and 1430 from the Coach Terminal at Star City Casino, Darling Harbour.

Harbour Cruises
There is a plethora of harbour cruises available from a number of operators, many of them based at Circular Quay. Captain Cook Cruises (tel: (02) 9206 1111) offer the 'John Cadman Sunset Dinner Cruise' for theatregoers. Departures are at 1715 daily from No 6 Circular Quay, ending at the Opera House at 1850. The A$69 fee includes champagne and a two-course meal with wine. Their 'Sydney Harbour Explorer' (A$25) and 'Sydney Harbour Highlights Cruise' (A$20) are hop-on, hop-off cruises leaving from No 6 Circular Quay with a fixed number of stopping points. 'Sydney Harbour Explorer' departures are every two hours (0930-1530), while 'Sydney Harbour Highlights Cruises' are hourly (0930-2000).

Bounty Cruises (tel: (02) 9247 1789) offer a choice of five sailing trips on Sydney Harbour aboard the faithful replica of William Bligh's Bounty, which was built for the Mel Gibson/Anthony Hopkins film of the famous mutiny. There are lunch, dinner, buffet, pre-dinner and brunch tours departing daily and costing A$53-99.

Other Tours
For aerial views of Sydney Harbour, the Bridge and the Opera House, Sydney Sights Day & Night (tel: (02) 9233 1000) offers a 'SkyTour' lasting approximately one hour and costing A$99 (by airplane) or A$249 (by helicopter).
